Pareto's Law: Applying the 80/20 Rule To Your Game

Pareto's Law dictates that 80% of your desired outcomes are the result of 20% of your activities or inputs.  Let's break down a recent round by one of my players:

Score: 73 (+3)
Fairways: 10
Greens: 8
Putts: 29

Combine fairways and greens missed (14) divided by score equals 19%.  The player was 7 over on those holes.   I found that number fascinating compared to the 80/20 rule.     The missed shots account for nearly 20% of the total shots.   I'm not sure what to make of this stat but I'm calling it "Missed Conversions."  Maybe it means that for this round the player took advantage of the good shots.  He actually birdied 50% of the greens he hit in regulation.

Over the next few days, post your Missed Conversion stats here in the comments section or email them to me.  I would like to see how this stat impacts your game.  I'll file a report once I come to a few conclusions.
