Friends:
It’s been crazy. It’s getting better.
I am not at the Studio on Sundays, but our faithful staff and amazing members were on hand when this started. Their brave first hand accounts and photos helped spread the word via Twitter and Facebook during the early stages of the fire. Everyone escaped safely.
As we learned more about the Spicewood fire, another fire started in Steiner Ranch threatening our friends at Wild Basin Fitness and my brother-in-law’s house. Unfortunately we know families that have lost their homes. My family members and their home are safe.
Then…another fire in Bastrop. This fire continues to rage and is about 30-40 miles due north of our family ranch in Luling. This complex fire is devastating and becoming the focus of relief efforts.
Then…the next day…another fire in Leander that directly threatened my new neighborhood. We live 3 miles due south of the Leander fire and with the strong winds blowing out of the north, my neighbors and I evacuated. There wasn’t any reason to stand and watch. You gain new perspective when you pack up your animals and sacred belongings in 5 minutes.
This fire is contained. Investigators opened an arson investigation.
I am personally coordinating supplies to firefighters on the front lines and have asked all my friends here to donate water, eye drops, saline nose spray, and energy snacks and bars to their local fire department in Austin. Begin your FD search here: http://g.co/maps/9em8y
We also have many non-resident players and I have asked them to donate to the Red Cross.
The relief station nearest the club has asked for HEB gift cards. You can purchase gift cards online here and ship them or drop them off at:

I have not determined when to return to the studio. Thank you for all the best wishes. Stay up to date on Facebook and Twitter.
